Road Applauds Gates Foundation Work and Style

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Being an international company, Road Apparel and its people care very much about the work we do, but also about giving back to our local and global communities in terms of time, money, and effort.  We are awed by and applaud the generosity of spirit and global impact of our Seattle neighbors at the Gates Foundation.

As you can imagine we were also humbled and thrilled to see Bill Gates sporting Road apparel during a visit to Nigeria.

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Road proudly hosted a fundraiser to support The Hope Heart Institute
on Feb. 5. With its partners Wild Ginger, Mission Mountain Winery, and
Bakery Nouveau, Road continued its support of this wonderful cause.
The Hope Heart Institute has a 50-year history of revolutionary
medical advances and educational curricula that make heart disease
more treatable, beatable, and preventable.

Congratulations to Craig Elton of Covington, WA—he was the lucky
winner of a $250 Road gift certificate and a $100 gift card to Wild
Ginger.

Road was very happy to have participated in this event during the live
auction.

Road Supports The Ronald McDonald House of Seattle

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

During the busy holiday shopping season in 2008, Road
hosted two evening’s where 25% of all purchases went directly to the
Ronald McDonald House. These well-attended events attracted generous
donations and a greater awareness of the important role that the RMHC
plays in our community. The Ronald McDonald House gives families a place to stay when their children are hospitalized.

Road Supports Balinese Culture and Clinic

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

In December, 2008, Road hosted two very talented Balinese artists: Ngurah
KK and Agung Pole. Road’s flagship store in downtown Seattle was
colored with an arrangement of oil paintings and canvases depicting
the lively and upbeat Balinese culture. Judy Mohre, the artists’
manager, and Dennis Raymond from the Seattle Art Museum, were on hand
to answer questions about the artists, their works, and foundation
efforts. A portion of the purchases made during the show went to
support the Bumi Sehat birthing clinic in Bali.

Jamie Moyer Pays Road a Visit

Monday, September 10th, 2007

Road apparel can fit into any man’s wardrobe, even professional athletes. Crafty left-hander Jamie Moyer of the Philadelphia Phillie’s stopped by our Seattle storefront to shop, and offer his praise.  Moyer, a former Seattle Mariner, is currently the oldest active player in baseball. Moyer has been able to sustain his success on the mound because of his finesse, durability, and tireless work ethic. These are qualities everyone should strive to attain in their everyday lives. Not surprisingly, Moyer looks for similar qualities in his clothes. He loved Road’s classy style and overall versatility. When asked about his wardrobe, he had this to say:

As much as I have to travel, I require clothing that is both comfortable and fashionable. Road fashion apparel fills my closet.

Road originally met Jamie’s wife, Karen, at a fund raising event. We at Road are very impressed by the work of The Moyer Foundation, which has helped to improve the lives of thousands of children all over the country.

Road has a great deal of respect for Jamie and all of the accomplishments in his long, successful career on and off the field. We are honored that he chooses our products to complete his wardrobe.
