Local Seattle Mountain-Men Lead Seahawks and NFL Commissioner up Mt. Rainier
Thursday, July 9th, 2009This Wednesday, Seahawks CEO and friend of Road Tod Leiweke, along with Jim Mora, Roger Goodell, Ed Visteurs, Peter Whitaker, and others reached the summit of Mount Rainier. The group reached the summit in an effort to raise money for United Way of King County. Jerry Brewer of the Seattle Times gave a little insight as to how the group formed:
“Goodell is here because Leiweke invited him during a league meeting last December. Goodell was hustling toward a room to start the meeting when the Seahawks’ CEO stopped him and said, ‘I’ve got a challenge for you.’
‘What is it?’ Goodell wondered.
‘I want you to climb Mount Rainier with us,’ Leiweke said.
Goodell agreed. Later, on his way home, he started to realize what he had agreed to do.
‘I was thinking, “Oh my. What did I just do?” ‘ The Commish said, laughing. ‘I really didn’t know what it entailed, frankly.’
The climbers are lucky to have two of the best mountaineers alive as their guides – the legendary Ed Viesturs and Peter Whittaker – but it still won’t be easy.”
You can read the whole article here.
There are sure to be some great pictures from the climb, and once we find them, we’ll put them up on the site.
Update: You know what’s better than pictures? Video.

Jamie Moyer Pays Road a Visit
Monday, September 10th, 2007Road apparel can fit into any man’s wardrobe, even professional athletes. Crafty left-hander Jamie Moyer of the Philadelphia Phillie’s stopped by our Seattle storefront to shop, and offer his praise. Moyer, a former Seattle Mariner, is currently the oldest active player in baseball. Moyer has been able to sustain his success on the mound because of his finesse, durability, and tireless work ethic. These are qualities everyone should strive to attain in their everyday lives. Not surprisingly, Moyer looks for similar qualities in his clothes. He loved Road’s classy style and overall versatility. When asked about his wardrobe, he had this to say:
As much as I have to travel, I require clothing that is both comfortable and fashionable. Road fashion apparel fills my closet.
Road originally met Jamie’s wife, Karen, at a fund raising event. We at Road are very impressed by the work of The Moyer Foundation, which has helped to improve the lives of thousands of children all over the country.
Road has a great deal of respect for Jamie and all of the accomplishments in his long, successful career on and off the field. We are honored that he chooses our products to complete his wardrobe.
